Never Wears Out
The Mega Fresh® Filter is designed for use in commercial refrigeration
units. This product is comprised of 100% all natural minerals encased in an
aluminum bracket. The Mega Fresh® Filter requires no electricity and
has no moving parts. The Mega Fresh® Filter installs behind the produce
evaporators resulting in no loss of storage space. When
properly maintained,
Mega Fresh® Filters never wear out and never need to be replaced.
How does it work? As air moves through the Mega Fresh® Filter,
excess moisture, ethylene gas and odors are eliminated by natural minerals
called zeolites. This results in crisper, cleaner air,
less odor and colder temperatures in the walk-in cooler. Zeolites are
safe, inert, stable, non-toxic and non-corrosive.
Ethylene Gas
Ethylene gas is an odorless, colorless gas that is naturally produced by
the ripening process. Ethylene gas causes the premature and accelerated
ripening and decay of fruits and vegetables. Bananas and tomatoes are shipped
while they are green and are exposed to ethylene gas in large chambers to
ripen them prior to being placed in supermarkets. By eliminating ethylene
gas, Mega Fresh® dramatically increases the shelf life of produce. The
USDA has stated that the Mega Fresh® has the ability to put fruits
and vegetables to sleep. This means only the internal sugars continue to ripen
the fruit or vegetable.
Odor Control
Mega Fresh® removes the cross transfer of odor, so fruits and
vegetables can be shipped and stored together.
Humidity Control
Mega Fresh® maintains the idea humidity level in walk-in coolers. When
excess humidity is present, the zeolite minerals will remove moisture. When
the air is dry, the zeolite minerals will release moisture. Eliminating
excess moisture prevents mold, mildew and bacteria growth.
Energy Conservation
When excess moisture is removed from the air, less energy is needed to lower
temperatures for cooling. By eliminating excess moisture, Mega Fresh®
will cause the walk-in cooler temperature to drop by several degrees and
reduce the compressor run time resulting in energy savings.
