The products in bottle coolers, vending machines, wine coolers, draft boxes
and other reach-in coolers are very prone to condensation and "sweat". Both
fog and sweat are examples of condensation. It occurs when moisture, in the
form of invisible vapor in the warm interior air, meets with the cold surface
of the bottle, can or glass doors. This creates several problems including
increased energy costs and even lost sales.
Reducing condensation lowers the humidity level. Mega Cold operates on the
desiccant principle - adsorbing moisture from the air before it can condense
on products and equipment. The Mega Cold Filter, by lowering humidity,
provides improved efficiency of the cooler to provide colder temperatures.
Condensation is prevented when the dew point temperature of the air is kept
lower than that of the products in the coolers (The dew point temperature
is the temperature at which a vapor begins to condense). Mega Cold is very
effective in producing low dew points. Cold air can't hold as much vapor as
warm air so condensation is eliminated.
Mega Cold eliminates "fogging" and condensation on the inside of glass doors
and lowers temperatures in coolers that need cold, but not freezing temperatures.
There's a Mega Cold Filter especially designed for each size cooler, including
a "brick" size for vending machines. Tests show the savings in energy usage
in vending machines is over $200 per year by using the Mega Cold Filter
System. Thermostats can be adjusted upwards because of the colder air, which
saves energy. Colder temperatures mean colder drinks (even the drinks in
plastic bottles feel ice cold to the touch). The "brick" is also a perfect
size for prep-line coolers.
