1.  How Do The Products Work?

The products (Mega Fresh®, Mega Freeze®, Aweome Air®, Odor Stop®, Flower Power™ and Mega Cold™) contain 100% natural minerals called zeolites. Zeolites are a type of volcanic rock that have the ability to adsorb water, odors and gases. Zeolite minerals have open structures containing large cavities interconnected by pores or channels. Zeolites have a huge interior surface that looks like honeycomb under a microscope. It has a natural negative ionic (electrical) charge. Water, odor and gas molecules have a positive ionic charge. Since opposites attract, the crystalline interior of the rock actually attracts and adsorbs these molecules and holds them tightly in place.

Zeolites are characterized by their ability to adsorb and lose water, odors and gases without damage to their crystalline structures. The zeolites are placed in filters and as air moves through these filters, excess moisture, odors and gases are adsorbed by the zeolite minerals.

2.  Didn't You Misspell Absorb As Adsorb?

No. Absorption (with a B) is a mechanical process - for example, a dry sponge responding to water by expanding and holding the water. Adsorption (with a D) is the electrical process (ionic) of opposite electrical ions attracted to and clinging to each other.

3.  Are The Products Safe?

The zeolite minerals are 100% natural.

OSHA has determined that the zeolites used in the products are:

  • Non-Toxic
  • Not Corrosive
  • Non-flammable
  • Stable
  • Not Caustic
  • Not an irritant
  • Not a sensitizer in oral, dermal and ocular per Federal Hazardous Substances Act (15 CFR 1500)

The zeolite minerals are safe to use around food and can be be safely ingested (although this is not recommended).

If a truck containing zeolites overturned on the freeway, the zeolites would be swept onto the side of the road because they're non-toxic.

4.  How Long Do The Products Last?

With proper maintenance, these products never require replacement. The zeolite minerals can be recharged and never wear out.

Mega Fresh®, Mega Freeze®, Awesome Air®, Flower Power™ and Mega Cold™ can be regenerated by placing the filter in the sun for 8 hours or baked in an oven at 120 degrees for two hours. The heat releases the water and gases stored in the zeolite crystals without damaging the zeolites. These filters need to regenerated every 18 to 24 months.

Odor Stop® can be regenerated by washing the filter with soap and water and then drying it out in the sun. Odor Stop® will last for months before it requires regeneration.

5.  Are These Products New?

Zeolites were discovered in 1755 by Swedish mineralogist Axel Fredrick Cronstedt. Zeolites have been used for years in a variety of applications including water softening, water purification, arsenic control, detergents, construction, enriching poor soils and converting crude oil into gasoline and other fuels.

This line of products has been on the market for 10 years.

6.  Can I Use These Products In My Home?

There are home versions of Mega Fresh®, Mega Freeze® and Odor Stop®. There are also two additional home products: Fisherman's Friend™ and Gun Guard™. For more information on these products, Click Here.

7.  These Products Sound Too Good To Be True. What's The Catch?

This is a case where the products live up to their claims and there is no catch. These products have been on the market for 10 years and carry a 30 day money back guarantee.
